Keepsakes of loved ones lost

On two occasions I have created paintings for people who are grieving the loss of someone who has passed away.  The process has been so intensely healing, unexpected and revelatory that I consider painting these works a precious gift.  The culmination is a keepsake that chronicles life and love. It is an intimate and inclusive voyage that is experienced as a life-affirming co-creation between me, you and the loved one who left this mortal coil.  It is both a psychic and extraordinary experience best explained by the stories below.

Richard Rowed

Richard Rowed

The portrait of Richard Rowed, which I’d been commissioned to paint for the Lismore legal fraternity. The story had in it proof that the subject, a well-loved lawyer who had died suddenly and a person I had never met, had been around me as I painted him. The portrait of Richard Rowed hands in the Lismore Courthouse. A close colleague and friend of both Richard’s mine, verified my intuition as fact.

Resurrection
